Just tried too run BT5 with QEMU on the NetBook.
i made myself a small Shellscript to start BT5 from my SDCard and geting Network access.

First tried QEMU-launcher but its totaly overloaded for just starting an Linux Image. It will took a aprox 2 min to boot up on Desktop. Performance is ok for this small piece of hardware :).

Today i updated my Ubuntu 11.10 to the EMGD 1.10 Driver.
Was a bit tricky cause the old EMGD downgraded the Xserver. I purged the old driver and Xorg, and reinstalled emgd 1.10 and the actual Xserver.
Movie Playback works great now. Even the desktop feels a bit smoother. But still i’m using 2D Version of Unity. But i don’t need more on my NetBook to be happy with it :)

Still got the Ubuntu 11.10 runnin on my netbook. Except Suspend and 3D Acceleration it works fine. Videos are kinda laggy but i don’t use it for that. Was a bit tricky to install the EMGD Drivers. The Build-In Poulsbo Drivers suck, so you got to start your system the first time with some extra Kernel Parameters

poulsbo.dummy=1  
psb_gfx.dummy=1

this will cause ubuntu to use VESA instead of Poulsbo Driver. Once bootet with this you can install the EMGD Drivers as explained here: [Read More…]

Seit einiger Zeit ging das Update im Ubuntu auf meinem Nebook nicht mehr. Die Reps sind abgeschaltet (9.04). Daher jetzt das Update auf 11.10. Nach einigem gefummel mit der Grafik läuft das ganze nun halbwegs rund. Die unterstützung des GMA500 funktinierte NICHT “out of the Box”. Immo teste ich den emgd treiber. Später also mehr von hier.

Beim Neuaufsetzen meiner FreeBSD Kiste bin ich auf tmux (Terminal Multiplexer gestoßen. Ein sehr nützliches Tool was auf keiner Installation fehlen sollte. tmux ist mit screen zu vergleichen, womit Sessions in Fenstern detacht werden können.
Somit können auch abgebrochene SSH Sitzung wieder aufgenommen werden was gerade bei längeren Installationen sehr nützlich ist.
Ein weiterer Pluspunkt gegenüber screen ist, das tmux Out-of-the-Box mit vi/emacs Key-Shortcuts kompatibel ist (Ctrl-b statt Ctrl-d).

Eben grade auf Youtube gefunden…. *AUTOHABENWILL* Aber jedesmall neue Reifen kaufen?!?

Der Kerl is einfach nur krank :).

Nachdem das Netbook jetz mit allen funktionen läuft, und sogar aus dem Standby erwacht (2x Console und X hinher switchen) hab ich mich mal noch dran gemacht meine Bluetooth GPS Maus einzurichten.
Hab das Dingen bisher nur im Wind00f benutzt also erst mal bissel gegoogelt und gelesen.
Kopplung lief erst nicht weil ich immer eine Zahl am GPS-Gerät eingeben sollte, etwas schwer ohne display und tasten :).

Nach dem ganzen Hick-Hack mit dem Linux fürs Netbook bin ich heute durch Zufall auf Jolicloud gestoßen. Eine spezielle Netbook und MobilDevice Distribution.
Laut Kompatibilitätsliste sollte es Out-of-the-Box mit dem AAO-751h laufen.
Vllt test ichs mal im Live Betrieb, aber im Moment bin ich ganz zufrieden mit meinem Karmic hier.
